Short version: this site doesn't track you. There are no cookies, no ads, no social media embeds, no comment system and no third-party fonts or scripts.
What's collected
Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser user agent and the page you requested in order to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. I don't receive or keep these logs. Cloudflare's handling is described in its privacy policy.
Visit counts. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or local storage, doesn't fingerprint your browser, and doesn't follow you across other sites. I see totals like page views, referring sites and country, never individual visitors.
Your theme choice. If you press the dark or light mode button, that choice is saved in your own browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device. Clear it anytime by clearing site data for cityhallit.com.
What isn't collected
- No cookies of any kind
- No advertising or retargeting pixels
- No newsletter list. Updates are by RSS, which you subscribe to without telling me anything
- No forms that send data anywhere
If you email me, I'll see your address and whatever you write. I use it only to read and reply, I won't add you to anything, and I'll delete it if you ask. I won't publish your message or your name without permission.
Links to other sites
Posts link to vendor documentation and other blogs. Those sites have their own policies. When you follow a link, your browser tells that site only that you came from cityhallit.com, not which page.
Changes
If this changes, for example if analytics are switched off or something is added, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
